How to Install a Watch Face on a Samsung Galaxy Watch (Wear OS)

Galaxy Watch models that run Wear OS (Galaxy Watch4 and later) get extra watch faces from Google Play. There are three easy ways to install one.

Option 1: the Galaxy Wearable app

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
  2. Tap Watch faces.
  3. Scroll down and tap the link to get more watch faces on Google Play.
  4. Choose a face and tap Install.

Option 2: Google Play on your phone

  1. Open the watch face's page in the Play Store app.
  2. Next to the Install button, open the device list and select your watch.
  3. Tap Install. It can take a few minutes before the face appears on the watch.

Option 3: Google Play on the watch

Open the Play Store on the watch, search for the face and tap Install.

Turn the new face on

  1. Touch and hold the current watch face.
  2. Swipe to the new face (or tap Add watch face at the end of the list).
  3. Tap it. If it has options, tap Customise to change colours and complications.

You can do the same from Watch faces in the Galaxy Wearable app.

If the face does not show up

  • Make sure the watch is connected to the phone and to the internet, then wait a few minutes.
  • Check that you chose the right watch in the Play Store device list.
  • Since 2026, Google Play only offers watch faces built with the Watch Face Format. Older “legacy” faces can no longer be installed from Play — see our article about the Watch Face Format.
